The Story Behind Criss Castle
The name Criss Castle was born from a journey— not just across continents, but through time, tradition, and generations of regal feline lineage.
As the dream of starting a Maine Coon cattery began to take shape, we found ourselves drawn to the roots of the breed’s most majestic traits: powerful builds, luxurious coats, and noble temperaments passed down through the finest bloodlines. Our search took us on a crisscrossing path across Europe— from the forests of Estonia to the snow-covered plains of Ukraine, from the artisan breeders of Norway and Russia to the old-world charm of Italy. Each pairing, each pedigree, and each kitten in our lines was carefully selected through this intricate web of excellence. Like a tapestry woven with purpose, our breeding program became a crossroads of champions— a legacy in motion.
The word “Criss” came to symbolize this international network of bloodlines and the dedication it took to cross borders, languages, and cultures in pursuit of perfection. “Castle” reflects the standard we hold for every cat in our care: a place of strength, heritage, and elegance worthy of royalty.

Champion Bloodlines & Superior Health
Our breeding program is built on experience, ethical standards, and a deep love for the breed. We work exclusively with purebred European bloodlines, ensuring that each kitten carries the distinctive look, robust build, and gentle nature that defines the Maine Coon. Health is our top priority—our breeding cats undergo echocardiograms, hip x-rays, and DNA testing to screen for over 40 hereditary conditions known to the Maine Coon breed including HCM, PKdef & SMA. We also test for FIV & Felv and follow the highest TICA standards of veterinary care to give our kittens the best start in life.
Our Dames and Sires come from renowned European catteries and we would like to acknowledge their persistence and dedication to breeding the most exquisite domestic cats in the world. We strive to embody and continue their excellence within our lines.
Criss Castle offers a 3-year guarantee for the most common genetic diseases known to the Maine Coon breed and each kitten arrives with 30 days of free pet insurance. We highly encourage our pet families to maintain this insurance policy for their kitten.
